Before completing the questionnaire:

  • ASSUME NOTHING. If you have any questions or specific needs, or are wondering how to make something work, now is the time to ask.

  • READ the 2016 Information Guidelines

  • PLEASE BE THOROUGH when filling out this form. We ask for the most complete information possible regarding your show so that we have the best chance of meeting your technical needs.

  • ASK ASK ASK! Call or email if you have any questions.  We are here to help you.

Edinburgh takes fire safety VERY seriously and there is a zero tolerance policy for any open flame or non-treated materials that may be brought for your show.  Costumes and hand props that would otherwise be taken or worn by an actor do not need to be treated.  Any set or hand prop(s) rented from our vendors in the UK will have been treated.

However, other materials like curtains, drops, large amounts of fabric like silk and muslin DO need to be treated.  There are several brands of fireproofing materials out there but we other the following guidelines and product recommendations:

  • Drapes which are made of materials which can absorb liquid can be treated with FLAMECHECK. Apply the treatment according to the instructions.

  • Drapes made of manmade materials such as nylon, polyester, acrylic etc should be treated with one of the ROSCO FLAMEX range of products.

Any product you choose to use to flameproof your material MUST be able to withstand a match test by a local fire brigade member in Edinburgh.
